Despite the fact that Christmas is only 5 weeks and 2 days away I have not been feeling festive, which considering it is still November might not be a total surprise, but when pretty much everyone you know has almost finished their Christmas shopping - whereas I have yet to start - well, I for one really feel like a bit of a grump.
I love Christmas, and I have a very good feeling that as soon as I start shopping and then wrapping the presents, and once the tree is up, well, I will be there in the festive zone, but I'm just not there yet.
What I will say though is despite the mass amount of Christmas advertisements that have been on television this last week - and my god, I swear there wasn't this many last year - there is only one advert that proves to me that Christmas is coming and that is the Coca Cola advert. Yeah, you know the one. Little boy runs into a church and rings the bell. The theme song kicks in. All the towns folk go out in the snow in their pretty lit up village and watch as those big red coca cola lorries go past with Santa drinking an ice cold cola from a classic glass bottle on the back doors.
Yes, as soon as I see that advert I know that Christmas is officially on its way. The lyrics to the tune are after all, "Holidays are coming." And guess what, I saw it twice last night as well. Despite the last week full of supermarket, clothes and toy adverts, no cola advert and then last nigh BAM two in one go. I think it is basically time for me to get my butt in gear for the festive season and I am going to start today by announcing the following:
